At The Hub we want to provide a broad range of classes so that there’s something for everyone. You can stick with the classics; indoor cycling, boxing circuit and bootcamp or try something a bit different like CrossFit or Sparta OCR.
Whichever class you choose you’re guaranteed to be taught by some of the leading instructors that Beds and Herts has on offer. You’re also guaranteed to sweat!
Indoor Group Cycling
A firm favourite with everyone, the indoor group cycling class will see riders experience the brand new Spinner NXT Black Belt Spinning bike from Star Trac. In fact, we’re the first club in the world to have them installed – exciting!
This class is a standard 45-minute class and is great for a cardio blast.
Sports Strength and Conditioning
Lead by Conor Turner, our very own Strongman and rugby player, you will be taken through a mixture of Olympic lifts, body weight exercises and sports specific conditioning blocks, tailored to your season and to your sport. Whether it is football, Rugby, Hockey, swimming or any sport this class will help you achieve your goals and be the best you can be come game day!.
Circuit training is a form of body conditioning or resistance training using hight-intensity functional movements, targeting strength building and muscular endurance
HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training)
HIIT is an enhanced form of interval training, alternating short bursts of anaerobic exercise with less-intense recovery periods. A kick-ass cardio workout that has incredible benefits for your body.Burn fat, improve endurance and build strength. Enough said!
If you’re after a fat-burning, calorie consuming workout then this is the one for you. It’ll keep you on your toes and on your guard as you’re constantly moving around the bag, ready for your next punch.
Jabs, upper cuts and hooks are the order of the day during this 60-minute workout that will leave you huffing and puffing like you’ve just done 10 rounds with Tyson!
Challenging the body isn’t all about pounding the pavement or high intensity exercise, sometimes staying still and relaxing can be the hardest thing to do.
Yoga is a workout that helps you align body and mind, focusing on strengthening and stretching the body using a variety of different poses and techniques.
Benefits include improved concentration, improved sleep and better flexibility.
Binned my “nice” gym for some Spartan SGX, as I’d heard good things. It’s destroyed be on the three occasions I’ve been, but I can see how it will take my fitness beyond anything “normal” training will do. Regular benchmark sessions to show improvement. The coaches shout a lot, but it’s a real team effort and as someone said at 0600 this morning, as I was about to collapse “there’s no such thing as a solo spartan!” Plus, you’ll get full use of the well equipped gym.
As usual a great and lovely place to visit and train. I like coaches, people and the facility allowing even outdoor training as we did yesterday, was good fun. So if you after something new to reach your (health & fitness) goals, you should give it a try. See you there then

I’m new to Crossfit and I can honestly say it’s the best gym experience on offer. Great combination of weight lifting, CV and gymnastics. All whilst surrounded by a great community of other Crossfitters and superb coaches. Beats running on a treadmill any day!
Put aside any thoughts of this being for elite athletes only. It’s a tough bruising set of workouts that will break you but you’ll feel like you really achieved at the end regardless of your starting point and times. The support from the fellow Spartans and coaches is amazing. You’ve not experienced support until you’ve had an entire class counting down Burpees with you. It’s a family in the end.

Helen’s Olympic Weightlifting Workshop
Packed up long standing membership of a “nice” chain gym and thought I’d try Spartan SGX. Two sessions in and it’s very hard work, but I love the team atmosphere and group mentality. Staff seem friendly and the rest of the gym looks good. “Dawn patrol” SGX at 0600hrs and evening sessions mean I can fit around my shifts and have free use of the rest of the gym.
Great staff, great atmosphere, decent equipment. Great value for money.
