I am responsible for every aspect of the day-to-day management of The Hub Facility.
I am an experienced Personal Trainer, CrossFit Coach, Level 3 Referral and British Weightlifting Olympic Weightlifting Coach
With over 5 years’ experience in the Fitness industry I have a passion to provide a client focused fitness facility to our members who demand an efficient and effective way to be stronger, happier and healthier.
I take immense pride in our team of highly qualified coaches and our amazing functional training facility. Customer service is a key part of my role and am always available to listen to your feedback on how to deliver the service you expect at The Hub
I am a Senior Coach and Personal Trainer here at The Hub.
My fitness and sporting background originates from playing rugby and working out in the gym to support this. I started locally playing in Letchworth, making my way up through the age groups moving on to playing for London Scottish academy where I had trials for Scotland under 20’s.
I’ve studied sport and exercise science at the university of Bedfordshire. I specialise in strength training and use it to improve my performance as an amature Strongman and playing rugby for Letchworth. I utilise this with all my clients from marathon runners to strongmen.
I have been in the fitness industry for a couple years now and have loved every minute of it. I believe fitness is for everyone no matter what age, body shape or fitness level you are, fitness plays such a key role in everyday life mentally and physically.
I enjoy coaching people in a group training environment as well as one-to-one. It makes me feel happy knowing that I can help people reach their goals.
At The Hub you’ll find me coaching classes such as ladies weight training, gym circuit, boxing circuit, bootcamp and indoor group cycle.
Having start my career at The Hub as a part time receptionist I have worked towards my level 3 personal training badge and achieved this in just under 8 months.
From a young age football had always been my main talent, playing at high levels such as Charlton Athletic and Stevenage as well as representing my county as captain in my youth career. I made my first semi – professional debut for St Neots at the age of 17 playing men’s football. For a long time football was my main passion but recently the gym has challenged that. I have now refocused my efforts on a new career path and am committed to becoming a top trainer at The Hub and you will see me taking classes such as Tabata, HIIT and circuits.
I enjoy the great team spirit around the gym and love nothing more than helping members to push beyond their limits and bring those goals closer.
Having completed my Rat Race membership last year, achieving my first ultra-run, The Wall, Man vs Mountain & Lakes, & The Dirty Weekend to name a few, I love encouraging others to achieve similar goals & to excel in something someone may currently do or have never thought possible.
With over 8 years of experience in personal training & group based training, I have broadened my knowledge to understand and apply a variety of training methods to meet the specific aims of the individual. With my huge passion of health, fitness & wellbeing, I believe group based training includes all of these & is a fantastic way for all abilities to get involved in a challenging, energetic & fun environment.
I’m a qualified Personal Trainer, CrossFit Level 1 coach and Spartan SGX coach with distinction. I have over ten years experience in endurance and high intensity interval training and have competed in Obstacle Course Racing, Ironman Triathlon, Double Ironman and a 100 mile Ultramarathon.
Having a family with two young children I appreciate how busy we all are and how time-efficient training has to be; that’s why all of my training methods have been personally tested, ensuring no margin for error or wasted use of time.
HIIT Circuit with Helen. The class was really nice. Good workout! I will come again for sure!
I had a great time at the Strength Workshop, I really enjoyed it. Conor taught an excellent session!
Packed up long standing membership of a “nice” chain gym and thought I’d try Spartan SGX. Two sessions in and it’s very hard work, but I love the team atmosphere and group mentality. Staff seem friendly and the rest of the gym looks good. “Dawn patrol” SGX at 0600hrs and evening sessions mean I can fit around my shifts and have free use of the rest of the gym.
Binned my “nice” gym for some Spartan SGX, as I’d heard good things. It’s destroyed be on the three occasions I’ve been, but I can see how it will take my fitness beyond anything “normal” training will do. Regular benchmark sessions to show improvement. The coaches shout a lot, but it’s a real team effort and as someone said at 0600 this morning, as I was about to collapse “there’s no such thing as a solo spartan!” Plus, you’ll get full use of the well equipped gym.
“Excellent attention to individual needs on course. Fantastic explanation and breakdown of key elements.”
Helen’s Olympic Weightlifting Workshop
Fantastic clean friendly gym, finally a gym that know what they are talking about!!!
As usual a great and lovely place to visit and train. I like coaches, people and the facility allowing even outdoor training as we did yesterday, was good fun. So if you after something new to reach your (health & fitness) goals, you should give it a try. See you there then
Great staff, great atmosphere, decent equipment. Great value for money.
HIIT Circuit with Helen. Very intense, good set of exercises!.
I’m new to Crossfit and I can honestly say it’s the best gym experience on offer. Great combination of weight lifting, CV and gymnastics. All whilst surrounded by a great community of other Crossfitters and superb coaches. Beats running on a treadmill any day!
